Family Fun at Lost Acres Resort in Northern MN

There are so many things to do during your Minnesota lake vacation at Lost Acres Resort and in the surrounding area. If you want a fishing vacation, Kitchi Lake and the 8 connected lakes offer a wide variety of trophy and panfish. We have a playground for the kids, a swimming beach, paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, water toys, wooded trails to walk, a sand volleyball court, video games, a well stocked library, board games and horseshoes to make this the perfect family resort. The grounds are spacious so large group activities are possible. Lawn games such as croquet, Bocci Ball and bean bag games are provided at no cost for more family fun. We have our own walking trails through the woods and you may see a Bigfoot or two, fairy villages and gnome villages on the trails. The Bemidji, Blackduck, and Cass Lake communities offer many fun events, festivals, shopping, and activities. See the chamber links on our home page for specific information.

Fourth of JulyJuly 4th is a really fun week at Lost Acres Resort. We have kids activities including nature scavenger hunts, medallion hunt, and crafts. On the 4th we have a parade around the resort and the golf carts, bicycles, and 4-wheelers are decorated for the occasion. It is not unusual to see a water gun emerge during the parade and there’s plenty of candy being thrown too. Young and old participate or enjoy watching and seeing the decorative carts. We also have a potluck picnic followed by a bean bag competition each year. And, to finish the celebration there is a local fireworks show. It is a very festive time at the resort.

Fishing - Cass Lake Chain of LakesKitchi Lake is one of the best kept fishing secrets in northern Minnesota. The lake provides water access to all the best known lakes on the Mississippi chain, including Cass Lake. This provides access to thousands of acres of great fishing. Walleye, Perch, Northern, Muskie, Crappie, Bass and Panfish are abundant.
Hunting - Chippewa National ForestOur resort is located in the beautiful Chippewa National Forest, which provides easy access to thousands of acres of public land for deer, grouse, and bear hunting. The abundance of wild rice on the connecting rivers is also very attractive to migrating ducks and other waterfowl.
ATVs in Northern MNThe area has many wonderful scenic ATV trails. If you are looking to enjoy the scenery, to experience nature, or to get away from the usual demands of life, our resort offers a great experience for ATV enthusiasts.

Biking Trails Near Bemidji, Minnesota

There are several great biking trails in the area. Bemidji State Park, the Heartland Trail and the Cass Lake trail are within 20 miles of the resort.

Fun & Local Attractions
There are nearby casinos and great shopping in Bemidji, Walker, and Park Rapids. Local celebrations and festivals occur throughout the year such as Moondance Jam, Moondance Country festival, Bemidji Fourth of July Festival, Blackduck Woodcarvers Festival, Blackduck Blues Festival, Bemidji Art in the Park, the Bemidji Dragon Boat Festival, and many arts and craft fairs. Enjoy water sports, campfires, watching the Northern Lights as well as fishing and hunting on your Minnesota lake vacation. We are located only 10 miles from the nationally recognized Concordia Language Villages. Bemidji's event center, the Sanford Center, hosts hockey games, concerts and many other fun events. There are several excellent golf courses nearby. Itasca State Park creates a fun day trip from the resort and Bemidji State Park is about 10 miles from the resort. Our resort is located just off the Ladyslipper Scenic Byway which offers walking trails full of ladyslipper viewing. We also have our own "Magic Forest" trails for family fun. And, we play a game of "Find Baby Bigfoot" everyday for the whole family!
